Important information concerning the Microsoft Update "January Patch Day“

The latest Microsoft Update, January Patch Day, has affected several EPLAN products. Several EPLAN products cannot start after the update has been installed, including all products that use the EPLAN Licence Manager and/or the EPLAN Licence Client.


Is your EPLAN not starting? Here's how to temporarily restart EPLAN!

The latest Microsoft Update, January Patch Day, has affected several EPLAN products. Several EPLAN products cannot start after the update has been installed, including all products that use the EPLAN Licence Manager and/or the EPLAN Licence Client. You can resolve this problem by temporarily uninstalling the update, which will allow you to start your EPLAN products. EPLAN would like to emphasise that this is a suggested solution to allow you to start using your EPLAN software again. By using this solution, you are doing so at your own risk and EPLAN has no liability. Please decide for yourself if the suggested solution is a viable option for your company. EPLAN is in close contact with Microsoft and is intensely working to find a sustainable solution which guarantees the operating ability of the EPLAN products after installing the update. We will inform you as soon as we can supply a sustainable solution.

You can temporarily solve this problem by doing the following:

Is the following error message displayed during the launch of your EPLAN software? If so, please check whether one of the following updates has been installed on your system. After uninstalling the update which corresponds to your operating system, you should be able to start your EPLAN software as usual. Windows 10 1709 (KB4056892)
