Project accelerator macros
These can now be created in EPLAN Electric P8 with up to 128 occurrences through the combination of variants and representation types. The ideal opportunity to store your own know-how for the individual standardization. Flexible value sets make speed and quality in its purest form. All the required occurrences of a partial circuit are managed in the macro file – providing the perfect basis for standardized and efficient design and planning.
Perfect overview
A highlight in EPLAN is the individual representation of black, PLC and location boxes. These boxes can now be drawn as polygons or polygon lines. This simplifies the representation of complex plant and location structures in machine overviews. The result, a high-quality overview plan that provides all project participants with the necessary overview. Additional flexibility is available for moving components and devices. If required, the device retains its original mounting location identifier even outside the location box, which users can now decide themselves through a shortcut key, whether the elements behave in an object or graphics-oriented way, another sign of the maximum development of the new EPLAN freedom in Service Pack 1.
Transparency in the revision management
Locating changes in the project and viewing the project state, has become child’s play with EPLAN Electric P8. The Revision Management Module provides new comparison functions, in which a project comparison, down to the individual properties can be configured. The project comparison can also be restricted individually to the trade or a plant part. The system finds all the relevant changes at the click of a button. No unnecessary long lists of results and no long searching thanks to the perfect comparison results, all the project participants are always up-to-date.
Perfect documentation
Online cross-references between the schematic and reports make navigation and access to the component data easier than it has ever been. Even in the PDF output of projects, cross-references allow you to jump between the new device tree and the various types of schematics and diagrams. In the PDF all the component data can be accessed via the new data sheets. Individually configurable by the user, these data sheets are generated automatically during the PDF export. Meaning that the colleagues in the subsequent engineering phases obtain exactly the information that they require for trouble-free manufacturing and rapid commissioning.
For international projects
With EPLAN, users enjoy the freedom of designing in their native language and having the project translated automatically into a different language, all by itself by the system. The linchpin here is the translation database that has to be maintained by the user. To make maintenance easier, proper names or internationally valid designations can now be excluded specifically from the translation. The new individual separators for word-by-word translations also help to reduce the amount of words, thus saving time and costs when translating the schematic and maintaining the database.
